Christine Kenna consults for a variety of businesses and individuals and her clients range from small businesses, to start-ups, to recording artists and authors.
Christine moved to Maine in 1991 as a licensed child and adolescent social worker, and in 1993 left social work to obtain her MBA from the University of Maine, with the goal of founding her own hair and skin care business. Recognizing the enormous potential of the internet, Christine became an internet commerce expert and led the company she founded in 1995, The Natural Body Bar, to become both the first company in Maine to offer secure online commerce and the first to do so nationwide in the Bath & Body Care industry. Her first web site, BodyBar.com, won numerous awards, including several for excellence in design and customer service. She was a pioneer in adopting and implementing online Affiliate Marketing and was a featured speaker on the topic at LinkShares first annual conference in New York City in 1996. In 1999, Christine sold her business to Alta Health & Beauty, headed by a former Proctor & Gamble president.
Through the building of her former company and later for various consulting clients, Christine has designed and copy written everything from catalogs, brochures and marketing materials, to product packaging and print advertising. For the Natural Body Bar, she formulated and developed much of their product line, sold through their online store as well as through established retail channels, including Nordstrom, Vermont Teddy Bear and The Museum of Fine Arts, Boston. She has been featured in the local press and nationally in several publications, including The Wall Street Journal, The New York Times and Parenting.
Christine is a periodic speaker, lecturer and teacher on internet commerce, business, graphic design, marketing and entrepreneurialism locally and in New England, was the 2001 Keynote Speaker for the Maine Womens & Girl's Economic Conference, and was awarded the titles of Master Teacher at Husson College and Trailblazer Lecturer at Thomas College. She specializes in both "brick & mortar" and internet business consulting, web and print design, digital imaging, copy writing and marketing program development.
